Role Summary

We are looking for an Apache Superset Developer to own the BI and visualization layer of an AI-driven contact centre analytics platform.

The role covers semantic modelling, dataset design and production dashboards used by contact centre operations, quality and business stakeholders. The candidate will translate analytical requirements into performant, well-governed visualizations and maintain parity with existing Tableau assets where both platforms coexist.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain Apache Superset dashboards covering contact centre metrics such as volume, handle time, sentiment trends, agent performance, escalation and churn signals.
• Model and maintain Superset datasets, virtual datasets, metrics and calculated columns against BigQuery and Cloud SQL.
• Optimize query and dashboard performance through SQL tuning, aggregate/materialized layers, caching and asynchronous query execution using Celery.
• Implement row-level security, roles and permissions aligned with client data governance and least-privilege requirements.
• Configure and manage Superset deployment, including database connections, drivers, feature flags, environment configuration and upgrades.
• Use Jinja templating and parameterized queries to create reusable, filterable dashboard components.
• Build custom visualizations or extend existing plugins where required.
• Support embedded analytics using the Superset Embedded SDK.
• Partner with data engineering teams on schema design for BI consumption.
• Work with business stakeholders on requirements, walkthroughs, UAT and go-live.
• Maintain dashboard documentation, data dictionaries and handoff artefacts.

Must-Have Skills

• Hands-on production experience building and deploying Apache Superset dashboards.
• Strong SQL, including CTEs, window functions and query optimization.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modelling and BI semantic-layer design.
• Python knowledge sufficient to configure Superset, develop custom logic and troubleshoot the application layer.
• Experience with dashboard performance tuning and caching using Redis / Celery.
• Understanding of BI security models including RBAC, row-level security and SSO.
• Strong data visualization fundamentals, including chart selection, layout, accessibility and clear communication of quantitative information.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Superset administration and deployment on Kubernetes or Cloud Run.
• Helm-based configuration experience.
• Experience migrating dashboards between BI tools, particularly Tableau to Superset.
• Working knowledge of Tableau.
• Frontend skills in React, ECharts or D3 for custom plugin development.
• Contact centre or customer-experience analytics experience.
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation technologies.
